Performance Beyond the Profession. Develop the person behind the performance.

Success at work is only part of the equation. The person leading the organization, building the business, carrying the team, or delivering the results is also navigating relationships, health, stress, identity, purpose, and life beyond the profession.

Those things don't disappear when the workday begins. They shape how we think, communicate, make decisions, respond to pressure, treat people, and ultimately perform.

John Schluter, founder of Anvil Concepts, helps individuals and organizations develop the whole person behind the performance because sustainable success shouldn't require sacrificing everything else that matters.

We've Defined High Performance Too Narrowly.

We measure what we can see: results, revenue, promotions, productivity, growth, but someone can perform exceptionally at work while their health deteriorates, relationships suffer, identity disappears into achievement, or stress simply becomes normal. And as long as the results continue, we still call them a high performer. Anvil Concepts believes performance should mean more.

Whole-Person Performance develops professional capability alongside the human being responsible for sustaining it. Building the self-awareness, resilience, emotional regulation, relationships, health, identity, and purpose necessary to perform across the areas of life that matter.

Because the goal isn't simply to accomplish more.

It's to become more capable.

Executive and Organizational Advisory

Partner with executives  to strengthen organizational health, improve leadership alignment, and navigate the challenges that accompany growth, change, and increasing responsibility.

Organizations Don't Employ Part of a Person.

Leadership Cohorts

Provide confidential, one-on-one advisory relationships for executives responsible for leading people, culture, and performance.

Strategic Speaking

Engaging presentations that challenge organizations to rethink organizational health, and the patterns that shape long-term success, designed to open the door for deeper organizational partnerships.

Companies invest heavily in what their people do. We help organizations invest in who their people are becoming.

Stress, relationships, health, identity, emotional regulation, personal responsibility, and life outside of work inevitably enter the workplace. They influence communication, judgment, resilience, culture, relationships, and professional performance.

Through Private Advisory, Leadership Development, Organizational Human Performance, and Speaking & Workshops, Anvil Concepts works with organizations and high-performing individuals to build greater capacity from the inside out. Develop healthier, more capable people, and you create healthier, more capable organizations.

Built From Experience. Backed by Understanding.

John Schluter spent nearly fifteen years in the Navy SEAL teams, including multiple combat deployments around the world. He knows firsthand what sustained performance, adversity, teamwork, responsibility, and pressure demand and what can happen when achievement in one area continually takes priority over everything else.

After leaving special operations, John earned a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from New York University and became a Certified Professional Coach. Today, his work sits at the intersection of psychology, human performance, and leadership.

He created Anvil Concepts around a simple idea:

High performance should extend beyond the profession.

What Is Your Performance Costing You?

Ambition isn't the problem.

Success isn't the problem.

The question is whether the way you're achieving it is strengthening the rest of your life or quietly requiring everything else to absorb the cost.

Anvil Concepts partners with high-performing individuals and organizations nationwide to develop greater capability, stronger people, and performance built to last.
